Located in the norternmost area of the Magic Kingdom, directly behind Cinderella Castle, lies Fantasyland, home of magic and fairy tales that appeal to the young and young of heart. Fantasyland is also the mst congested area of the Magic Kingdom; expect to spend a good deal of time waiting in line if you intend to visit most of the attractions.

Fantasyland Tips

Visit Fantasyland early (before 11 AM), late (after 7 PM), or during the parades.

Consider shopping and eating in places other than Fantasyland. Similar food and merchandise can be found elsewhere, in less crowded area of the Mgic Kingdom.

Park your strollers in one spot and walk from ride to ride. Fantasyland covers a small area, so this can be easier than loading and unloading strollers between rides.

Wait times for Dumbo, the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, and Peter Pan's Flight can be some of the longest in the park. Visit these early in the day or use FASTPASS.

Keep an eye on the kids! The kiddie rides tend to entince little ones to wander off, aking this the single most likely spot in Disney World to lose your children.



Fantasyland Attractions

Ariel's Grotto - a kid's play area featuring squirting fountains, the grotto is a good spot to rest and cool off. Go inside the cave to meet Ariel herself, but beware - this line can get exceptionally long. However, this is the only spot in the Magic Kingdom where you can see Ariel on a regular basis.

Cinderellabration - a musical show starring the Dinsey princesses is held several times each day in fron of Cinderella Castle.

Cinderella Castle - measuring 189 feet tall, th castle is not only the tallest structure in the Magic Kingdom, but is its symbol, as well. Tinkerbell's nightly flight takes place here, and characters can be found around the castle throughout the day, and will frequently appear unannounced near the rear of the castle.

Cinderella's Golden Carrousel - features seventy-two white horses and classic Disney music. The Carrousel is especially beautiful at night.

Dumbo the Flying Elephant - an extremely popular attraction designed for younger children in mind, but popular with all ages. Lines are shortest in the morning, and seem to steadily grow as the day progresses.

Fairytale Garden - tucked behind Cinderella Castle, this garden features Storytime with Belle, a 20 minute retelling of Beauty and the Beast that recruits children from the audience into the cast.

It's a Small World - an 11 minute boat ride especially loved by young children. Lines tend to move evely throughout the day.

Mad Tea Party - a 2 minute ride in an oversized, spinning teacup. Riders get to exercise some control over the ride (you can spin your own teacup faster or slower as you choose). Be warned that this ride is not for those who tend toward motion sickness.

Mickey's PhilharMagic - an excllent 3d movie experience featuring Donald Duck and a host of other Disney characters. Popular with all ages.

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh - ride honey pot-shaped cars through a blustery day. Young kids love this ride, but the lines can be very long - ride early or use FASTPASS. Pooh's Thotful Spot, located at the exit, has a great selection of Pooh merchandise.

Peter Pan's Flight - a 3 minute ride on a flying pirate ship over the rooftops of London and on to Neverland. Very deatiled, appealing to kids of all ages. Again, this ride tends to build long lines, so be prepared to come early, during a parade, or to use FASTPASS.

Pooh's Playful Spot - a kids' play area located across from the Many Adventured of Winnie the Pooh. A good place to let little ones burn off some energy.

Snow White's Scary Adventures - a three minute ride in mine cars as you follow the story of Snow White. This ride is probably too intense for very young children - the dark and the music are enough to scare many preschoolers.

Sword in the Stone - Merlin challenges young guests to pull the sword from the stone and become ruler for the day. This show takes place several times per day, and can be a real highlight of your trip.



Fantasyland Dining

Cinderella's Royal Table - sit down dining (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) located at Cinderella Castle. Character dining at breakfst and lunch. Reservations are required, and the Cinderella Breakfast books months in advance.

Enchanted Grove - small stand serving soft drinks and slushes.

Mrs. Pott's Cupboard - Ice cream, snacks, and soft drinks.

Pinocchio Village Haus - sandwhiches, salads, and soft drinks in a counter service environment.

Scuttle's Landing - counter service restaurant featuring snacks, coffee, tea, and soft drinks.



Fantasyland Shopping

Pooh's Thotful Shop - a great collection of Winnie the Pooh merchandise.

Sir Mickey's - costumes, hats, snow globes, and other assorted merchandise.

Tinker Bell's Treasures - stuffed toys, chldren's clothing and jewelry, games, and toys.

Fantasy Faire - plush and Donald Duck items.
