Taking a trip to Walt Disney World is a fun and exciting opportunity for anyone. However, it will take a little bit of planning to make sure the trip runs smoothly and without a hitch. Walt Disney World is one of the largest theme parks in the United States and a vacation there should be well planned. Within this article, we will provide you with some tips on planning your Disney World vacation easily and efficiently, leaving no stone unturned.

How long will you stay?

This is probably one of the best parts of planning a vacation, is deciding how long you want to stay. Of course, this will depend on budget, time off work, and school for the kids. However, figuring out how long you will stay will help you determine a great many things. For example, the length of your vacation will determine how many nights in a hotel and its cost. It will also help you determine things such as, how much you need to pack, how many days of food you will have to figure in, and other things within your budget. The greatest thing about the length of time you will stay will determine how much you pay to get into Disney World. The longer you stay the more money you save on tickets.

Disney world has excellent packages anywhere from a 1-day ticket to a 7-day ticket. The more days you add, the more money you will save. Who doesn’t like to save money? So there you have it, first thing first, figure out how many days (and nights) you will stay on your vacation.

Finding the Deals

Contacting your travel agent or making use of the internet can help you find many excellent and exciting deals for your Walt Disney World vacation. You can visit www.disneyworld.disney.go.com and see the many packages that the Disney Resort has to offer. They run packages year around so you are sure to find a deal that is perfect for the time you wish to travel.

Your travel agent can also help you with designing the right package for you and may also be able to save you a great deal of money. For example, if you are a resident of Florida, Disney has many packages geared specifically towards you. There are many packages designed to fit everyone needs and budgets.

www.mousesavers.com offers many packages such as:

Magic Your Way – This includes a base ticket for each person to the park, plus hotel accommodations

Magic Your Way Plus – Includes base tickets for everyone, hotel accommodations, and two meals and one snack per person, per night.

Magic Your Way Premium – Includes base tickets, hotel accommodations, 3 meals per person, per night, recreation, park tours and admission into a show.

Magic Your Way Platinum – Hotel Room, 3 Meals, Room Services, Unlimited Tours, Unlimited Recreation, Private Golf Lessons, Reserved Seating during Fantasmic, Spa Treatment, Tickets for a show, and child care in-room or in the activity center. Furthermore, you can experience a firework cruise and the planning of your itinerary.

If you have a credit card like Visa, American Express, or Discover, your credit card company may have special packages that you can enjoy if you use your credit card to book your vacation. If you have a Disney credit card, you can enjoy further discounts and special packages that are specifically designed for their cardholders.

Making Reservations

You should make your reservations immediately upon deciding to take a vacation to Walt Disney World. This is especially important during peak and regular seasons when hotel and resort rooms may not be available on short notice. When making your reservations, whether online or by telephone, make sure you have your exact travel dates down pat. Knowing when you are arriving and when you are leaving will make your reservation process a whole lot easier.

Additionally, you should know how many people would be in your party, so you can have enough space and beds for everyone. Other things that will be helpful are knowing rather you want smoking or non-smoking, premier or regular room, and what type of room you want. Carefully research your choices of hotels and resorts online. By doing so you will have a good idea of what type of room you want, how much it costs, and where you want your room to be located.

Before you leave

2 weeks prior to your vacation departure, you should call to verify your reservations for your hotel or resort room as well as your car rental (if this applies to you). This will ensure that everything is moving along smoothly with your vacation. If there are any problems with your reservation, this gives you time to work them out or seek other accommodations.

5 days prior to your vacation departure, you should begin packing for every person in the family. Here is a list of some essentials you should bring along. This is provided because we know that vacations could be hectic and we want to help the process be as smooth as possible. Walt Disney World is a magical place and you should be able to enjoy that without having to worry about items you left behind.

After you are all packed and ready to go, it is time to take care of your home. This is the time to throw out any food that may spoil while you are gone. This is also the time to ensure the care of all pets (fish, cats, dogs, etc.). You can take your cat or dog to a kennel while you are away if necessary or you can ask a family member, friend, or neighbor to come over, feed, and interact with your pets while you are gone.

Another thing you should do is call the post office and the newspaper, ask them to hold your mail or paper until you have returned. This will help you in a number of ways. First you will not have to worry about coming home to a large pile of mail flowing out of your mail box or newspaper littering your lawn or porch. Furthermore, it will not alert possible intruders to the vacancy of your home while you are gone.

Lastly, ask neighbors to keep an eye on your home while you are on vacation. Ask them if they see any suspicious activity to notify the authorities. However, you should also let them know if you have anyone coming over to take care of your pets, water your plants, or get your newspaper and mail. Explain to them who will be in your home while you are gone, give them a general description of the person and the automobiles they drive. This will help ensure the safety of your possessions while you are on vacation.

In Conclusion

Have a great time on your vacation and experience all you can of the magic of Walt Disney World. By using this helpful guide, you will make sure you are ready for your vacation and leave no stone unturned.
