If you're getting ready to take your family to Disney World, you might want to share with them some interesting pieces of Disney trivia. What a great way to start getting everyone excited than to toss out a random fact about the magic kingdom every evening at dinner!

For example, did you know that Mickey Mouse has a wardrobe that supermodels envy? And, did you know that Minnie Mouse has even MORE outfits? That's right. Mickey's closet currently holds about 175 different complete outfits that range from casual to the most formal, and Minnie has over 200!

How many t-shirts do you think are sold at Disney World every year? I’ll be you didn’t even come close to the real number. Statistics show that there are as many t-shirts sold every year as there are people in Chicago, Illinois! That’s right – almost THREE MILLION t-shirts pass through the gates every single year.

What about photography? Anyone who has ever visited Walt Disney World is sure to notice that everyone is carrying a camera. This amounts to a lot of photographs, if you add up the number of year-round visitors that enter the park each year. It is thought that nearly 5% of all photographs taken in the United States each year are taken in Disney World!

Let’s talk about the hotels. You probably already realize that there are accommodations of every type in the Disney World Complex. They range from campgrounds to top-notch accommodations. Did you ever stop to think about how many linens guests use each and every day? The laundry piles up quickly! In fact, if you were to do one load of Disney laundry per day, it would take you over forty years to get through just ONE day’s worth of sheets, towels and other linens.

Speaking of hotels, it would take one person over 60 years to stay in every single room in the Walt Disney World complex!

We all know that Walt Disney World is immense. But, do you know HOW large? The complex spans an area that is twice as large as Manhattan! Anyone who has even visited New York City will tell you that it is impossible to cover the entire island on foot. Can you believe that Disney World is twice that size? Make sure to plan a long trip if you want to have time to take in all of the sights and events!

The 47 square miles covered by the resort contain 2,000 acres of lawns. That means the landscaping crew put about half a million miles on their mowers every single year. Do you know that half a million miles is the equivalent of traveling around the equator – 18 times?

The buses that carry people throughout the resort could actually make that equator trip as well – around six times each week of the year! Yes, the buses rack up about million miles each year.

Now that you know some little known facts about Disney World, you can use these bits of trivia to get your family even more excited about your upcoming vacation!
